Oakley CAD Services Limited

Oakley CAD Services Ltd (OSCL) was registered with Companies House in England during October 2004 and is run by Director Paul Oakley BA(Hons) Dip Arch RIBA.

Associates.

OCSL works with two associates who provide additional resources, cover and technical support, where required. These are:

  • Professor Mervyn Richards OBE, MR1 Consulting; and
  • David Throssell, BSc Hons, CEng, MICE.

BIMeLearn.com

OCSL has its own BIM elearning domain branded as BIMeLearn.com. This is a Moodle based eLearning site providing, free, commercial, and educational resource materials. The educational resource materials are used by universities, such as the Atlantic Technological University (ATU) for their degree and master’s courses.

OCSL also licenses its training courses to LRQA who used the education material as part of their individual BIM Certification pathway.

As well as our in-house Tutor, Director Paul Oakley, BIMeLearn has several associate tutors who are available for our courses for either in person or via Webinar delivery. These Tutors are:

  • David Throssell, BSc Hons, CEng, MICE;
  • Sean McCormick MSc BIMM, BA (Hons) Architecture, ACIAT, FHEA; and

Autodesk Developer Network (ADN)

OCSL joined the ADN in 2004 and since then have been developing applications for Autodesk products such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, Civil 3D, Revit and Naviswork. These have included applications bespoke to projects, available for public use via the App store, and bespoke capabilities for third party solutions, such as the Activeplan Revit Connect plugin.

OCSL can provide a wide range of Services to meet Client’s needs. These range from CAD or BIM management, software development, deployment and configuration, content creation and the production of standards, methods and procedure. but we are selective in terms of who we work with.

The OCSL team have been involved in writing some of the leading industry documentation supporting BIM Development and the AEC industry in the UK, South America, Middle East and Far East and are used to working to both local and international standards.

The OCSL team can aid in developing either organisational templates or project specific documents to aid in the delivery of your BIM Strategy or project. As Experts in the delivery of structured information OCSL can also aid in identifying the tools and data strategies that you need to put in place to facilitate a digital transformation strategy.

The issue with the ISO 19650 process is that it excludes many of the requirements fundamental to reducing cost and effort established in the original Avanti standards, methods and procedures (SMPs). Mervyn, Paul and David were all involved in these SMPs, as well as the following BIM Level 2 requirements and can fill the gaps in reestablishing these requirements.
